Fitness: How It Saved My Life

I was always overweight

I had been overweight since I was young. I remember being teased about it at school and even though I tried to lose weight, nothing ever worked. I never used to be a particularly active person. I would go on the occasional walk and play a bit of sport, but that was about it. But I always think about my body fitness.

I would try diets and exercise programs, but they never stuck. I just kept gaining weight over time. Eventually, I got to a point where I couldn’t do anything without feeling exhausted. My body felt weak and tired all the time. I didn’t have any energy. I was constantly hungry. I was depressed and anxious. I was frustrated and angry. I had no motivation to get out of bed in the morning. I felt hopeless and helpless. I thought I’d never be able to live a normal life again.

Three years ago, however, I decided to make a change. I started going to the gym five times a week and eating a healthy diet. It was tough at first, but I soon started to feel the benefits. Not only was I physically healthier, but I also felt happier and more relaxed.

I started working out

One day, I decided to start exercising. I joined a gym and began doing cardio and lifting weights. After a few weeks, I noticed that I was starting to feel stronger and healthier. I lost some weight and began to look better. I was finally getting back to normal!

But then I started thinking about how much money I spent on the gym membership each month. I knew I could save a lot of money if I did something different. So, I quit going to the gym. Instead, I started walking around the neighborhood and running errands. I started eating healthier foods and drinking lots of water. I ate less processed food and drank more green tea.

I also started cooking meals at home instead of eating out. I gradually cut down on junk food and sweets. I wanted to eat healthier, but I wasn’t sure what that meant. I didn’t know what to eat. I didn’t know how to cook. I didn’t know where to find good recipes.

I discovered fitness apps

Then, I stumbled upon Fitbit. It’s an app that tracks your steps taken, calories burned, distance traveled, and sleep quality. I loved it because it helped me track my progress. I liked seeing how many steps I took each day. I liked knowing how many calories I burned. And I loved the idea of tracking my sleep.

I realized that I hadn’t slept well for years. I was always tired and sleepy. I had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I often woke up early in the morning and couldn’t fall back asleep. I was having problems concentrating and remembering things. I was losing focus. I was stressed out and anxious. I was irritable and moody. I was struggling to keep up with work projects. I was having trouble keeping up with friends and family. I was missing out on social events. I was missing out. I was unhappy. I was miserable.

I changed my lifestyle

After using the Fitbit app for a while, I realized that I was making changes in my diet and lifestyle. I was eating fewer carbs and sugar. I was drinking more water. I was eating more vegetables and fruits. I was cutting back on fast food and sugary

I never would have considered myself a “gym rat.” In fact, I used to hate working out. But then, about a year ago, I had a health scare that changed my whole perspective on fitness. Now, I’m dedicated to working out regularly and I credit it with saving my life. In this blog post, I’ll share my story and provide some tips for how to get started with a fitness routine.

Now, fitness is a huge part of my life. I credit it with saving my life, not just in the physical, But also in healthy life,

1. Cardio

Cardiovascular exercise is the best way to burn calories and lose weight. You don’t have to do any special exercises to get fit; simply walking at a brisk pace burns about 100 calories per hour. If you want to work out longer than 30 minutes, try doing interval training, where you alternate between high-intensity cardio (such as running) and low-intensity cardio (walking). Interval training helps you build endurance and improve your cardiovascular system.

2. Strength Training

Strength training builds muscle mass and increases bone density, helping you maintain a healthy body weight. In addition to building muscle, strength training also helps prevent injury and boosts self-esteem. Try lifting weights three times a week, using free weights or machines.

3. Balance

Balance is the ability to stay upright while moving. When you’re standing still, your center of gravity should be over your base of support—your feet. But when you start walking, your center of gravity shifts forward, causing your body to lean slightly forward. To help balance yourself, focus on keeping your head level and your eyes focused straight ahead.

4. Flexibility

Flexibility is the ability to move freely without pain. Strengthening muscles that support joints and ligaments helps keep them flexible. Yoga and Pilates are great ways to stretch and strengthen muscles.

5. Lunges

Lunges are a simple yet effective workout that targets your quads, hamstrings, and glutes. Stand with your legs shoulder width apart and place your hands on your hips. Step forward with your left leg and bend both knees until your right knee almost touches the floor. Push off with your left foot and step back to starting position. Repeat 10 times on each side.

6. Core Strength

Core strength refers to the muscles that run along the sides of your torso, including your abs, lower back, and oblique’s. These muscles stabilize your spine and pelvis, making sure they don’t bend excessively when you lift heavy objects or perform certain movements. Core strength also helps you stand tall and hold your posture steady.

7. Squats

Squats target your quadriceps, the largest group of muscles in your thighs. Start by standing with your feet hip distance apart. Bend your knees and slowly squat down until your thighs are parallel to the ground. Your shins should remain perpendicular to the floor throughout the movement. Pause briefly before rising back to standing. Do 8 to 12 repetitions.

In conclusion, fitness has saved my life in more ways than one. It has helped me to physically and mentally. I have become stronger, more confident, and more disciplined. It has also given me a outlet for stress and a way to connect with other people. If you are looking for a way to improve your life, I encourage you to give fitness a try.
